You've already taken the first step. Yes, you have. You took the time to educate yourself about honor killing. You now know and understand that there is no honor in honor killing. It's simply this - murder.
Second, you felt the injustice the victims felt before their lives were cut short. They too had dreams and aspired to live their life to the fullest. Some wanted to become teachers, lawyers, doctors, and one day get married and start their own family. It's shame they didn't get a chance to share their lives with others.
Third, stay abreast of events what's happening in your local community about violence against women. Although, there may not be frequent news about honor killing in the Twins Cities, you can still support your local shelter that works with women and children fleeing from a domestic abuse. Any violent act against women and children can lead to death. Our society just doesn't call it honor killing.
